The Raymond R. and Beverly Sackler Institute of Theoretical Physics was
established in 1987 for the purpose of fostering activity in
theoretical physics at Tel Aviv University. The Institute supports, in
the main, one- or two-year stays of young
theoretical physicists who are carrying out post-doctoral research
under the supervision of senior theorists at the university. It also
helps to provide funds for visits of distinguished foreign theoretical
physicists who are collaborating with people at Tel Aviv. Occasionally
the Institute provides other forms of assistance to the programs in
theoretical physics at the university.
